India’s Architecture has for a long time been strongly connected to the international movements,

specially since independence of the country in 1947 when India invited international architects to build

a new identity for the nation. But as much one can see the analogies to the outside world, the climatic,

economic and sociological circumstances for building have always been very different, and those

factors have a strong and visible influence on the built environment.
